Parent or guardian involvement
A parent or legal guardian must initiate and remain involved in lesson enquiries and arrangements for a learner under 18. Meeting links, schedule changes and other important communications should include or be visible to the parent or guardian.
Online lessons
- Online lessons take place through Google Meet or Zoom after confirmation.
- The learner should join from a suitable shared or supervised space.
- Meeting links should not be forwarded to anyone not involved in the lesson.
- A parent or guardian should be reasonably available during the session.
In-person lessons
The parent or guardian is responsible for choosing a safe, appropriate lesson location and should remain present or readily available, especially for younger learners. Any concern about the setting should be raised before the lesson begins.
Professional boundaries
- Communication must remain respectful and related to learning or scheduling.
- Learners should not be asked for unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
- Tutors and learners should not move lesson communication to private social-media accounts.
- Bullying, discrimination, harassment, intimidation or inappropriate conduct is not accepted.
